Huila

« I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. »
— Robert Louis Stevenson

The story

Welcome to Huila.

In southern Colombia, where the Andes split in two, Huila unfolds its valleys like a crumpled map. The Magdalena River begins here, and every village seems perched on a ridge just to get a better look at the next.

Here, someone hands you a tinto before they even ask your name. Colourful chiva buses climb the dirt roads loaded with coffee sacks, music and laughter.

A third-generation coffee grower, Marleny took over the family farm at 28. She introduced slow fermentation and now mentors the village's young farmers.
